Under Article 18 of the Constitution of the Japan Academy of Nursing Science, the Councilors Election of Public Interest Incorporated Association, Japan Academy of Nursing Science (hereinafter: JANS) will be conducted for the 2014 fiscal year as stated below.

The Councilors Election will principally be conducted by online voting, so a period will be provided for voters to confirm the proper functioning of their own computer network operating environment to enable online voting. Voting by paper ballot will be accepted only in cases where online voting is not possible.

In late November the JANS office will send directly to each regular member’s official address (their registered address for membership dues notification) information on the voting procedure (ID, password for voting), procedure manual, and application form for paper voting in case of inability to perform online voting. Please cast your vote by the specified deadline in accordance with the voting procedure sent to you.

Electoral registers and eligible candidates

- All regular members will be electors and eligible candidates.

- Electors and candidates will be determined as of Friday, October 10, 2014, the date that the Electoral Registers are created.

Members who have served as a Councilor for 2 successive terms will be excluded from the list of eligible candidates.

Election procedure

The Councilors Election will be conducted according to the voterís applicable area (residential area). (The voterís residential area is determined by the voterís address registered for membership dues notification as of noontime, Friday, October 10, 2014.)

The voting blocks comprise the following 13 areas: Hokkaido, Tohoku, Kanto A, Kanto B, Tokyo A (including overseas), Tokyo B, Ko-Shin-Etsu, Hokuriku, Tokai, Kinki A, Kinki B, Chugoku/Shikoku, Kyushu/Okinawa. - For details of the voting blocks, please refer to the attached table of Detailed Voting Blocks.

Period for voters to confirm proper functioning of their own computer network operating environment to enable online voting: Monday, December 1 Ė Friday, December 12, 2014.
- Please log in to the Japan Academy of Nursing Science website under the banner (written in Japanese) of the Councilors Election (For Test).
- If you have problems with operation which cannot be resolved, please request a paper ballot by Monday, December 15, 2014.

Online voting period: 12:00 on Tuesday, January 13, 2015 until 23:59 on Tuesday, January 27, 2015.
- Please log in to the Japan Academy of Nursing Science website under the banner (written in Japanese) of the Councilors Election.
- Voting information will be sent separately to members requesting paper voting due to inability to do online voting.
