Under Article 18 of the Constitution of the Japan Academy of Nursing Science, the Councilors Election of Public Interest Incorporated Association, Japan Academy of Nursing Science (hereinafter: JANS) will be conducted in the 2019 year as stated below.


The Councilors Election will principally be conducted by online voting. Voting by paper ballot will be accepted only in cases where online voting is not possible due to failure of personal computer or network environment.


Please follow the voting procedure manual and ID/password for voting which will be sent to you by post in early January.

Electoral registers and eligible candidates

 

- All regular members will be electors and eligible candidates.
- Electors and candidates will be determined as of Friday, October 19, 2018, the date that the Electoral Registers are created.
Members who have served as a Councilor for 2 successive terms will be excluded from the list of eligible candidates.

Election procedure

 

1)

The Councilors Election will be conducted according to the voter’s applicable area (residential area). (The voter’s residential area is determined by the voter’s address registered for membership dues notification as of noontime, Friday, October 19, 2018.) 

2)

The voting blocks comprise the following 13 areas: Hokkaido, Tohoku, Kanto A, Kanto B, Tokyo A (including overseas), Tokyo B, Ko-Shin-Etsu, Hokuriku, Tokai, Kinki A, Kinki B, Chugoku/Shikoku, Kyushu/Okinawa.
- For details of the voting blocks, please refer to the table of Detailed Voting Blocks on the reverse side.

3)

Online voting period: 12:00 on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 until 23:59 on Tuesday, January 29, 2019.
- Please log in to the Councilors Election site in the Japan Academy of Nursing Science website. The banner will navigate.
- Voting information will be sent separately to members requesting paper voting due to inability to do online voting.

Ballot counting: Wednesday, January 30, 2019,17:00 start.

Method of appointing Councilors

 

1)

Councilors are elected in order starting with the candidate who received the most valid votes.

2)

If votes are tied for two or more candidates, the Election Administration Committee will conduct a lottery to determine the order in which the quota of Councilors is filled.

3)

The Election Administration Committee will inform the newly elected Councilors in writing of their election.
